There has been a 400 per cent rise in people playing at Kirwan’s revamped golf club.
Before major changes at Tropics Golf Club, there was an average of 200 tee-offs a week.
This month the course, formerly known as Willows, celebrated its first-1000 round week.
Tropics Golf Club course operations manager Andy Graham said he was delighted.
“Generally, a successful golf course would see anywhere between 800 and 1000 rounds played each week,” said Mr Graham.
“To be hitting the upper limit of this bracket so quickly is a really good sign of things to come, and a great pay-off for all the hard work and expertise that’s been put into improving the club. There would be maybe 10 to 15 courses across Australia seeing more than 1200 rounds per week; and we certainly hope to be among them in due course.
