The renewed push by users of Bill Smyth Oval received another boost this week with the Oval Redevelopment Committee receiving another grant for $20,000 from the NSW Government Community Building Partnership 2018 bringing the entire amount of money raised to $500,000.
With the grants already received, the Oval Redevelopment Committee and Eurobodalla Shire Council is close to setting out a new master plan that will outline the future of the whole sports precinct
So far between Eurobodalla Shire Council and the Bill Smyth Redevelopment Committee funding has been secured from various NSW State Government grants $400,000 for upgrades to the clubhouse, $100,000 for field lighting and a further $13,000 for a new scoreboard.
Mr Peachey said they had also been in touch with the political world and had received promises of money towards the Bill Smyth Oval redevelopment if they were elected.
“We still have the job of getting community consultation started and engaging a team of consultants,” he said.
Planned upgrades to Bill Smyth Oval include a second oval for rugby league; a netball court and amenities.
