Laurieton Oval upgrade

Written by:

An upgrade to Laurieton Oval is set to address drainage problems, provide a boost in viewer facilities and address its dated amenities.

The upgrade has been allocated $560,000 in the 2019/2020 Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Operational Plan.

The plan was adopted by council at its June meeting.

According the council minutes, the development of the master plan was based on targeted stakeholder/user group engagement and was not be placed on formal public exhibition.

A council spokesperson said the project was prioritised by sporting user groups and will require additional funding through grants, donated services and materials.

The spokesperson said the project scope would include an upgrade to the main amenities, as per the master plan.

Camden Haven Redbacks president Tamara Burns said she was happy the upgrade would address drainage issues at the field and provide two quality fields for the football club.
