Toro Australia has hit a six by partnering with the world’s best cricketer, Michael Clarke.
The Australian Test Captain is the new face of Toro’s consumer mower range, which includes Walk Power Motors, Lawn Tractors, TimeCutter Mowers and Titan Mowers.
The partnership coincides with Michael recently being named as Wisden’s leading cricketer of 2012 in the 150th edition of Wisden Cricketer’ Almanac. He is the third Australian to ever receive the honour.
Michael said he was delighted to go into bat for Toro Australia on home soil.
“From my career in professional cricket, I understand how turf condition can influence performance,” Mr Clarke said.
“However, recently purchasing a 93 hectare property near Berrima in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales has given me an even greater appreciation for what goes into caring for turf management.
“My wife Kyly and I are opening an elite cricket academy, and the grounds include a cricket oval, tennis court and equestrian centre, so the necessity for top quality and specialised turf is even more important.
“Toro mowers have played a big part in helping me to establish a world class facility.
“I’m looking forward to a long partnership with the brand.”
Toro Australia Managing Director, Mr Tim Emery, said he was excited to announce Michael Clarke’s innings with Toro.
“Proving he really is an all-rounder, Michael has played on some of the best turf in the world and has a sound knowledge of turf management through his involvement with his cricket academy,” Mr Emery said.
“We are thrilled to have Michael on the team at Toro Australia and congratulate him on being named as Wisden’s leading cricketer of 2012.”
