It’s enough to make Happy Gilmore fans produce their happy dance.

Point Walter Golf Course is now home to Perth’s newest mini-golf course, an 18-hole challenge that is set to open next Friday, July 17.

Belgravia Leisure, which manages Point Walter Golf Course, has spent more than $1.5 million transforming the City of Melville facility into a destination sure to attract more families and fun.

“It’s not your typical 1980s mini golf course, it’s challenging for traditional golfers as well as your occasional whackers,” Belgravia Leisure’s state manager Rohan Gunton said.

“I think it’s the setting, the natural environment and the ambiance of the place, when people think of mini golf this is not what they expect so it’s like the next level of mini golf.”

The mini golf course has been in the planning pipeline for three or four years so its little wonder Mr Gunton says he is “happy”.
