A significant section of Cammeray Golf Club will become a building site to facilitate both tunnelling and surface works, but the management of the club are copping it sweet.
The course will host works for the Western Harbour Tunnel, Warringah Freeway Update and Beaches Link Tunnel according to plans seen by the North Shore Times.
Maps indicate that the club may have to give over almost half of its land to facilitate the construction and tunnelling work.
The site will also be used for removal of spoil by trucks and storage for construction materials.
The disruption will deny members and visitors access to an unspecified number of the club’s 18 holes but management have said they are “encouraged” by the revelations.
“Cammeray Golf Club is encouraged by the document’s intention to minimise impact on the golf course,” said general manager Layton Gould.
“The club looks forward to working with and being supported by the Government to facilitate the delivery of a major infrastructure project while minimising any impact on the golf course and the club.”
