Inglewood’s TET Stadium & Events Centre is set to get a significant upgrade after receiving a $30,000 grant.
The Taranaki Community Stadium Trust received the money from the New Zealand Community Trust (NZCT).
It will go towards upgrading the internal and external sound systems and convertign the medical rooms into office space for the venue and local sporting codes.
The stadium’s facility and event marketing manager Robyn Towning said the stadium trust had been unsuccessful with previous funding applications and they were grateful to have the support of the NZCT.
The total cost of the upgrade is $43,000 and in November the stadium trust is teaming up with the Little Fighters Trust to host a fundraising event called Stadium Showdown, where teams will compete against the clock and each other on a large obstacle course, to help raise the final $13,000.
