The 2017 Sports Turf Association of New Zealand’s Fine Turf Seminar is fast approaching, and STANZ has released the full program for the event.
This year’s Seminar will be held from August 20-22 in Dunedin at multiple locations, including the Otago Golf Club and Forsyth Barr Stadium.
Organised with a range of sessions focusing on golf, management and consultancy, this year’s program is also the first time STANZ have a dedicated sports field program embedded into the seminar.
This will offer even more insight and opportunity for industry guests that work in sports turf management, with sessions based around topics such as understanding chemical resistance, cricket pitch preparations and budget restrictions for club level sporting bodies.
The program also includes the Golf stream of sessions, where guests can listen in on talks about Poa Annua suppression, measuring moisture and overcoming moss. There are also field trips to The University of Otago Oval, and a closer look at Forsyth Barr Stadium.
The three day event is also a cause for celebration for the Southern Turf Managers Association, who will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary of turf management.
Sunday’s proceedings are based around this main event, with a STMA Life Members’ Golf Tournament happening at 11am, and then an Anniversary Dinner in the evening with guest speaker Craig Cumming (Sky Commentator and ex Black Cap & Otago Volts player).
