Turf company StrathAyr will lead the multi-million-dollar redevelopment of the Elwick thoroughbred racecourse in Glenorchy.
The business, which has offices in Victoria and Tasmania, will employ three extra staff on top of its 14 employees for the $12.5 million project, which will see the two existing racing tracks replaced with a single 28m-wide track.
“StrathAyr grass tracks are highly regarded for their all-weather and high use capabilities, and [the company] will engage with other Tasmanian contractors on the project,” Ms Archer said.
StrathAyr will also supply the turf for the project.
