The redevelopment of Trangie’s Alan Burns oval is another step closer to commencement with the appointment of a successful contractor.
The project, which is now due to commence in October, was delayed after it was discovered late last year the tendering process had confirmed that the funds available did not match the proposed upgrades as outlined in the original scope of works.
“Council is very excited about commencing the redevelopment of Alan Burns Oval in Trangie,” Narromine Shire Council’s General Manager Jane Redden said.
“Hopefully, if weather permits, work should be completed by early next year.”
“The redevelopment of the oval will see the Trangie community have a first class playing surface” she said.
The full redevelopment of Alan Burns oval playing surface includes: surface and sub surface drainage, new irrigation and turf.
Works will commence in October following the 2018 winter sports season and, weather permitting, will be completed early next year ensuring no disruption to the 2019 winter sports season.
