Firefighter Robert Pursehouse said it was quickly established they were going to require back-up and called for assistance from Rural Fire Service crews from King Creek, Wauchope and Lake Innes with an additional Fire and Rescue crew from Laurieton.

“We have to thank staff at the Wauchope Country Club as well who assisted us and provided an all wheel drive vehicle and extra hose lines,” Mr Pursehouse said.

The blaze burned well into the evening with crews still on scene after midnight.
